Data in Motion. Communities in Control. Oceans with a Future.
At this next-gen side event of the UN Ocean Conference, we're hitting the water to reshape the future of ocean management — powered by surfers, sensors, and social equity 🏄🏽♀️🏄🏽♂️ - featuring guest speakers Dr. Ana Manero, an environmental economist and surf ecosystem researcher, Patrick Gorringe, international ocean relations at SMHI, and Elizabeth Murray, founder of Indonesian / Australian surf NGO, A Liquid Future, creating positive outcomes for people and nature through surfing and creator of the Surfer Scientists concept.
Join a global lineup of changemakers as we:
🎯Test GPS-temp sensors mounted on paddleboards
🌊Collect & stream live ocean data from the water
🏄🏽♀️Showcase how surf communities generate decision-ready insights
🏄🏽♂️Share surfers’voices from Côte d’Ivoire to Cabo Verde
🤝Demonstrate inclusive, cost-effective ocean monitoring that scales
💡 What’s at Stake?
